KREUZBERGER JEWEL

nr4_01nr4_02nr4_03Kreuzberg might have regained the upper hand over Mitte as Berlin’s hippest district, but in terms of fashion it is still a desert – think army vintage, hemp trousers, cheap t-shirts, enough said. Slap in the middle, looking out onto the terrace of the infamous social housing estate on Kottbusser Tor, a little island of fashionable intelligence opened its doors a few months ago: the pretty and pretty tiny store Nr4 is really worth a visit, if only for its lovingly detailed interior design. And while the selection of womenswear by the likes of Berlin labels Klein Corpse and Hui Hui still feels a little patchy, it’s the perfect place for accessories and jewelry, notably for the work of Susanne Schmitt which is modest, clever and utterly beautiful – just the way we like it.
