It’s not too hard to accept the fact I have to take advice from younger brothers, art school student friends or interns in order to find out about new music. (The pivot point must be around 26 years.) But what sucks is the deeeeeelaaaay! Why didn’t anyone tell me about Nicolas Jaar a year and a half ago?
Whoever missed his gig at Bar25 last summer, might find some comfort in the free “6 Edits” release, and certainly in Jaar’s debut “Space is only Noise“. Others just might like his refusal of cool, resonating in a highly engaging manner, making a delay feel nothing but adequate.
