This weekend, Germany’s most anticipated art event of the year is opening its doors with Documenta 13 (and we’re very proud to have our editor Magda Magiera on board to curate the ambitious schedule in surrounding talks and events). The first reviews are positive, and the glimpses and teases in the run-up to the exhibition promise an unusual and interesting mega-exhibition. Their website is probably one of the best and most content-loaded sites so far to accompany an art event (and further proof that the art world is finally catching up with the possibilities of the Internet), and the publication series 100 Notes – 100 Thoughts makes for a beautiful prelude in print, consisting of eventually 100 notebooks by different artists, writers, scientists, etc that connect thematically to the exhibition. Simple in design and affordable in price, they offer a light-hearted but well-considered approach to an ambitious project.
