02.10.2015

Time is merciless, and believe it or not: mono.kultur is turning 10. Naturally, we will celebrate the occasion accordingly, with our friends at Acud Macht Neu. We will confirm the program very shortly indeed, so in the meantime, save the date: 02 October 2015. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.

ALTERNATIVES IN PRINT: STYLE & THE FAMILY TUNES (POSTSCRIPT)

The first magazine to commission me in Germany was fashion and music magazine Style & the Family Tunes, at the time Berlin’s answer to i-D or Dazed & Confused. Launched in the mid-1990s, it survived a whopping 17 years in which the media landscape irrefutably began to transform, leaving Style amidst its wreckage. Few genres [...]

MONDAY MUSIC: FOALS

Foals are a reliable sonic choice when we need something to keep us awake at the studio, so any news of a new album is always welcome – their latest, What Went Down, is out now.

All the more reason to join them this weekend for their first anniversary party tomorrow, offering a tasty musical line-up, naturally, [...]

INTERPRETATION OF NATURE

Across photography, installation, and social sculpture, Mathias Kessler probes the contemporary imagination, employing a visual language that borrows from the Romantic landscape genre and expedition photography, using empirical reason and the “sublime” as foils for an investigation that goes beyond the mere “natural” surface to explore the more complicated political and economic forces that have [...]

MONDAY MUSIC: BEIRUT

After a four year-hiatus, our favourite troubadours Beirut return with a new album that, judging from their new single No No No, sees them return to full form. They are coming to Berlin to play live in a couple of weeks, but alas, it is completely sold out. No no no.

COLOMBIAN POSTSCRIPT

If you are following our Instagram feed, you will have seen that we spent a week in Bogotá for a workshop at the impressive Utadeo university. Now that we’re slowly recovering from our Colombian hangover, it’s time to send a quick thank you towards the design department for inviting us in the first place, to [...]
