MONDAY MUSIC: RADIOHEAD

In tribute to last night’s fantastic show by Radiohead in Berlin, a look back.

First Music Video

This is probably the first music video ever. Before youtube. Before MTV. Before color, too: Len Lye’s 1958 ‘Free Radicals’

MONDAY MUSIC: THE HOUR

Virtually nothing is known about The Hour, apparently, but in the meantime, we love the apocalyptic, dystopian video by Hector for their second ever track. MONDAY MUSIC: PLAID

Coming out this week: Plaid’s latest offering, The Digging Remedy. Lovely, lovely.

OUT OF THE CAVE

Our alltime favourite band Radiohead is about to release a new album which you can digitally enjoy here and here or live on their upcoming world tour there and there or pre-warming yourself by a fire while watching this and listen that (even upside down if you like).

THE COLOUR IN ANYTHING

James Blake released his highly anticipated new album, The Colour in Anything. Get it on iTunes, stream it on Spotify or pre-order the CD or vinyl LP here.

GOING BLANK AGAIN

It’s the moment when the lights go dark just before the show: in anticipation of their imminent new album, Radiohead have wiped their entire digital presence, clearing their website and all social media accounts… with a chirping bird appearing on their Instagram today (& gathering 13k likes in 4 hours…) Dawn chorus.

GOING HOME

Ásgeir – Going Home (Offical Video) from One Little Indian Records on Vimeo.
I kind of missed this when it came out in 2013, but now, as I‘m coming home soon again, I feel like having heard it before.

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC

What does music from Hell sound like? No mortal transcription may exist except for a tiny patch of canvas butt in Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights. And of course, Tumblr would be the one to play it. Listen to it here, or for a choral arrangement, here.
