Gossip sells, they say, so in an attempt to spruce up our blog a little, here’s some gossip for you: according to the Daily Mail, Peter Doherty, eternal enfant terrible, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday in Berlin for smashing a car window at the end of a drinking binge, after asking repeatedly for cocaine. Well, it’s true he doesn’t look that fresh anymore in the photograph, which apparently was taken after his arrest. Even more entertaining, however, is Doherty singing the German national anthem during a concert in Munich – including its first verse, which is banned for some not so pretty content that was quite popular during Nazi times. Funnily enough, we came across this tidbit of news in the British tabloids; in Germany, no one seems to care that much, really. Anyway, why do we mention it? Because the scene of the spiteful act of vandalism happened to be Trinkteufel – ‘Drink Devil’ – a notoriously depressing late hours joint for when you really don’t care anymore. It also happens to be just around the corner from our office, so there. God, would we have wanted to be there. Or maybe not.
