Lange Nacht der Designstudios

Berlin seems to be the ‘Lange Nacht der Something’ city… Museums, Opera, Books, and what else could be missing? That’s right, Design Studios, something that Berlin is very representative of. Therefore, on June 7th, between 19 and 23 pm, Berlin design studios will open also for the night shift! More than 58 design studios in town [...]

EXODUS NOW

Ursprung is the latest project of Stephan Abry (Workshop) and Hendrik Weber (aka Pantha du Prince). Their release is a mix of their own ‘Ursprung’: Krautrock, ambient, and minimalist guitar-sound á la Durutti Column- the guitar as the primary sound source. Those very influences melt into ten tracks produced by Tobias Levin.

RESTAURANT DAY

When I went to Helsinki, I was really surprised by the amazing quality of food there. I mean, we all know that Scandinavians appreciate a drink or five, but in terms of food, well… But not Finland, oh no, they are something like the France of Scandinavia when it comes to culinary delights (I’m serious, [...]

… AND EUROPE WILL BE STUNNED!

The Jewish Renaissance Movement in Poland (JRMiP) calls for the return of 3,300,000 Jews to Poland in order to re-establish the annihilated Jewish community. The movement was initiated by Israeli-born artist Yael Bartana in 2007 and has since spread internationally. It aims to create an atmosphere for a Jewish appearance in Europe. The Jews of [...]

HA ZA VU ZU

Art collective Ha Za Vu Zu, based in Istanbul, will perform today at Voo Store. Don’t miss the after party at Luzia with the collective that also use music as their medium.

Double Dutch

Another fine and eclectic event to clutter your busy Berlin weekend schedules with.

FUTURE SELF

Made is a curious and pretty bling – as in very white – space on the ninth floor of Haus des Reisens on Alexanderplatz. Their focus is to bring people from different media together and work out a new collaboration, so you never really know what to expect, which I suppose is the idea. It [...]

ARCHIZINES BERLIN

We mentioned Archizines, an online archive for architecture periodicals, before, and editor Elias Redstone has done a great job touring the collection around the world in one large traveling exhibition. Tomorrow and just in time for the Gallery Weekend, the archive will find its way to Berlin, at Do You Read Me?!’s Reading Room, accompanied [...]

A Celebration of Creativity, Culture & Cuisine

Bored with the temperamental weather outside? We’re all looking forward to those Sundays spent in the park, chilling, sunbathing and reading a book (while we strongly fear another Summer like last year’s one). But that’s not happening, at least for this Sunday. So we better make the best out of what we’re left with (which [...]

MONO.PUNKT #15: FACING PAGES

This weekend sees the second installment of the magazine festival Facing Pages (previously called O.K. Festival) descend upon the lovely city of Arnhem in the Netherlands – three days full of talks, events, launches, exhibitions and parties, including too many interesting speakers to list here – let’s just say they really did their homework. To [...]
