It warms the heart when you see an honest-to-goodness, physcial, real paper (!) magazine come into being, especially in today’s climate. Launched this past December, Whim Quarterly is trumpeting its 70 gsm matte paper as “flammable.” Fantastic. Its content is pretty great, too. Featuring articles like “On The Economies Of Magical Lands” and “Street Names For Drugs Your Kids Are Taking,” Whim is a mix between Lapham’s Quarterly (also on paper!), Dave Egger’s first magazine Might, and National Lampoon.
