I know it’s a bit daft to post this on the mono.kultur blog but it was by far the most impressive thing I read this week: There’s a brewery in Oberasbach, Germany, called Schorschbräu that brews the strongest beer in the world with 43% alcohol and manages to do so in accordance to the German purity law. One of the pretty ceramic bottles containing 0,33 litre of beer costs about 120 $. To get such a strong beer they developed a special technique involving aging, freezing and concentating. It apparently tastes very smooth but with a very harsh alcoholic finish.
