KW69

From today on, KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin shows a new exhibition series in the front building, entitled KW69. This series provides a space for dialogue for artists, a kind of experimental stage that for one year will be the home to a number of artistic projects in quick succession. Moving on from one project to the next, the participants will shift roles, as the artists exhibiting then invite the next project. This dynamic interplay will enable unconventional points of reference, continuous shifts in perspective, and uses of the exhibition space that refer to and build on one another. The series begins with artist Angela Bulloch presenting works by Jean-Michel Wicker, which she relates to works by Manfred Pernice, Roberto Matta, Christina Mackie, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Bruce Gilbert, Vidya Gastaldon, Cerith Wyn Evans, and Germaine Cellier. Jean-Michel Wicker will send out the invitation to the second KW69 exhibition, and his choice of artist will also determine the next host.
