NEVER SORRY

Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry TEASER from Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry on Vimeo.

‘Never Sorry’ is the first feature documentary film about Chinese artist and human right activist Ai Weiwei, set to be released in 2011. The movie is being produced by MUSE Film and Television, a non-profit executive production company that uses film and digital media to create quality films on visual art and culture.

‘Journalist and filmmaker Alison Klayman has gained unprecedented access to Ai Weiwei, documenting his often quixotic crusade. From his international gallery shows to his detailed studio practice, from scholarly interviews with peer artists and critics to intimate talks with family members, Alison offers a portrait of this transcendent cultural figure, a man whose fusion of art and activism resonates not only in his homeland of China but in the world at large.’

Alison Klayman is a freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Beijing. Apart from her work as a journalist, she had previously worked in the documentary short ‘Ai Weiwei: New York Photographs 1983-1993‘, shown as part of the exhibition at the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre in Beijing, in 2009.
