Sometimes the best ideas are the most obvious ones, and you wonder why no one’s thought of them before. For instance, why should bridges be suspended high above the waters they cross? Why not make them on water level? It must have been a moment for excitement for Dutch Ro-Ad architects when they came up with it. Nice surprise.
