Our little column cat Made in Germany had gone missing for the past few months, and we have been wondering ourselves what she’s been up to, when today she just walked in through the front door and acted like nothing happened.
Our own more or less daily wanderings into the Internet lead us all across the globe, but never really to Germany, for some reason – with one noble exception, which is the Berlin-based design / art / culture blog Ignant, featuring a great daily selection of exhibitions / studios / people to watch. Carefully selected and beautifully presented, with the odd self-initiated column, such as the Daily Basics feature that presents the most important objects to a specific person (photographer Benjamin Bergh above), Ignant took home Gold in Germany’s Editorial Design Lead Awards last year for best blog, and deservedly so. And since they recently added an English translation to their content, you can now do virtual zapping from Berlin Kreuzberg to Berlin Mitte. Hello and Goodbye.
