World Fairs… Places of industrialization, power, colonialism and futuristic ideas.
From 1st of June till the 24th, a world fair will take place, that differs from The Great Exhibition in legendary Crystal Palace: ‘The World is Not Fair-The Great World’s Fair 2012′. By collaboration of Berlin based architecture office Raumlabor and HAU, this critical world fair is generated by the help of 15 artists and groups such as Harun Farocki, Toshiki Okada, Hans Werner Krösinger, Tracey Rose and architecture collective Umschichten. These artists ‘will show, perform, present of their own subjective description of the world’ at the field of Tempelhof. As being a historically significant site, Tempelhof will host various events: lectures, discussions, film screenings and concerts. Here is the program.
