In Europe, we take well-sorted and -curated art book stores for granted – most major European cities will have an outlet for independent magazines like mono.kultur. Asia is a different matter, however, and one is grateful for any newsagent that will stock English titles in the first place, and be they Time and Hello!
South Korea, on the other hand, and like Japan, is the noble exception, not least thanks to Post Poetics, who have been importing and distributing quality independent titles to the Korean peninsula for years now. Early discoverers of mono.kultur and many other fine titles, they are an outpost of European ideas in print and design, presented in that bright and pure style that only Asians know how to do so well.
PS: Look at those stools…
