After years of back and forths and maybes, tomorrow night will after all see the closing party of photography gallery c/o Berlin at the grand Postfuhramt Mitte, the former stables of the royal Prussian postal service, with an evening enlightened by our friends at Jutojo. But while c/o finally found a new and promising home at the legendary Amerika Haus in West Berlin, what the closing means is the loss of yet another cultural staple of Mitte – and there aren’t that many left anymore – when the building will be renovated, sanitized and sold off to some corporation that is thriving on the district’s popularity derived from its former cultural diversity. So it goes.
