This is, of course, what Berlin dreams are made of: Australian photographer Zoe Pawton, based in Berlin and also working in a café in hipster district Neukölln, presumably to make ends meet, noticed Ali passing by every morning, looking impeccably stylish at 83 (and being a father of 18 kids), got friendly with him, asked if she could take photos, started doing so every morning, posted those on Tumblr, and the rest is history. It’s kind of too Berlin to be true, and exactly why we love these stories so much. See more of Ali here.
