This being May Day, you should not be leaving the house without a solid box of matches, in case there is still a Mercedes Benz around that might need to be lit up, and if that sounds a little harsh, well that’s what people do here in Kreuzberg. Or at least used to in the good old days before May Day was taken over by kids and families. Long gone also is the art of match box design, that great and nonchalant vehicle for illustrated splendour, so thank you Mr Shailesh Chavda for assembling an impressive filckr collection of past glories in graphic design. Awesome.
