A PILGRIMAGE DAY 01

pilgrimage_01Forgive us if we’re overdoing it a little with our current cover star Tilda Swinton, but the current third installment of her Cinema of Dreams – or Burden of Dreams, as they retitled their pilgrimage dragging a mobile screen across Scotland – is just too much fun to observe.

Here’s a brief update in their own words: ‘As the story of the making of Werner Herzog’s Fitzcarraldo unfolded on screen in Burden of Dreams, we couldn’t help a few wry smiles.  The trials of dragging a boat over a mountain, even just trying to make a film in the Peruvian jungle, were not all that different from taking an antique bus and a hand-drawn mobile cinema through the torrential rains of a typical Highland summer…
It’s been a hard but wonderful first day.  The day by day section is live now, but with only a tantilising glimpse of our activities so far.  Fellow Travellers have been grappling with tents and wet socks and midgy spray and haven’t had a chance to pass on their pics yet.  More, much much more to follow.’

Note Tilda at the head of the group pulling the screen – you somehow can’t picture Angelina Jolie doing that…
