MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA BOOK

picture-31

This month book publishers Rizzoli present the first book to document the work of famed Paris-based fashion designer Martin Margiela.  In the self-titled publication the elusive designer continues to remain somewhat elusive – he hasn’t written a word.  Instead he has allowed his image to be shaped by contributions from industry experts including Jean-Paul Gaultier, Susannah Frankel, Andree Putman and Vanessa Beecroft. But he did design the layout of the book and in the spirit of Margiela’s garments, the book is a work of art in itself, complete with silver inks, ribbon markers, a variety of lush paper types, twelve booklets and an embroidered white-linen cover.
