SYDNEY BIENNALE AND PECHAKUCHA NIGHTS

sydbiennale

If you’re in Sydney soon you may wish to plan a visit to the 17th Biennale of Sydney which is held from 12 May until 1 August 2010. Based on the curatorial theme The Beauty of Distance: Songs of Survival in a Precarious Age, recent and new works by Australian artists will be showcased alongside international artists at Sydney’s leading cultural institutions, contemporary art spaces and heritage sites.  And if you’re going to see the Sydney Biennale you may also wish to participate and register for a PechaKucha night. PechaKucha, the Japanese term for ‘chit chat’, invites artists, designers, architects and other inspiring creatives to make presentations on any topic of 20 slides, each for 20 seconds. A call for PechaKucha participants is taking place now. First round applications are open until 30 March 2010 and applicants will be notified about their submission by 30 April 2010.
