Peter Sutherland’s new web project is the perfect lead-in to the impending summer. Called Smoke Bath, it features the work of a great many photographers and artists, all of whom have contributed their personal takes on the theme “camping/nature/exploring.” Participants include Boogie, Todd Hido, Alec Soth, and Albert Maysles. Browsing the site makes me hate the glittering glass looming over New York; thankfully Storm King just opened.
The site is accompanied by a book, published by the fantastic Seems, and will soon feature a section where viewers can upload their photos. All proceeds will go to the Fresh Air Fund, which provides summer vacations to low-income children.
