So, this week seems to be loaded with nice events worth paying a visit and with such a nice weather there’s no excuse to stay in.
Today, BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer), an one-night event where several artists will be presenting their work, with a beamer, of course! The event will showcase works from more then 25 artists.
Also tonight, under the program Straight to Dong, Let Me Take You Down – An evening of cinematic pleasure, featuring short films from Janie Geiser, Lewis Klahr, Ashleigh Nankivell and others, at Basso. ?Doors open at 8pm and films start around 9.30pm
Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 21st, Speed Show is celebrating Today and Tomorrow’s blog 5th anniversary.? The Speed Show consists in a specially rented internet-café, turned into a gallery for one night. Equipped with 18 computers, each screen will show a different animated gif from one of the participating artists.
Thursday, July 22nd, Künstlerhaus Bethanien will be inaugurating 4 different exhibitions worth seeing. ?André Romão’s ‘The Vertical Stage’, Chua Chye Teck ‘City Landscape’, Daniel Beerstecher video work ‘50°60′59,50″N / 8°40′35,30″O’ and Andreas Schulz, ‘U.S. TRILOGY I, Vegas’ will be opening at Bethanien gallery spaces.
Finally, PechaKucha Night Berlin, on Friday, July 23rd, 8pm, at Atelier Überall. ?PechaKucha Night pretends to be an informal evening of words and pictures, where participating artists get to present their work in a different format: 20 images and 20 seconds for each image. ?By shortening the showcasing times, the presentations get more concise and things move at a rapid pace. Participation is not limited to artists, as people from other areas are also welcome to join.
