ALVA NOTOISM

We’ve been discussing projects relating audio and video a few times here recently, which is why we really should mention a concert by our mono.kultur cover star #01, a certain Carsten Nicolai aka alva noto, who’ll be presenting an update of his unitxt project – under the name of univrs – which is based on largely mathematical structures that serve as base for both, sound and visuals. All this as part of the annual Märzmusik festival, this time in the truly breathtaking environment of Trafo, the recently opened power station in Berlin Kreuzberg, so be prepared for a visual feast.

Oh, and since we’re already at it, we might as well mention that only a few days later, on April 3rd, Nicolai will team up with Einstürzende Neubauten’s Blixa Bargeld for another highly recommended concert of their project anbb at Hau theatre. It’s a powerful combination, especially live – so be prepared for a sonic feast.

And as if that weren’t enough, Carsten will also be presenting new material from his highly successful collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto in May at a rare Raster-Noton event in London… as you can see, the man is unstoppable.
