This one is actually only partly made in Germany, namely the concept, packaging and distribution. The content – tastiest pure olive oil – comes from Greece, or rather Maini, to be precise. Hence the name, right. So Maini is a small Berlin-based company importing olive oil from Greece, adding a clear aesthetic and a lot of love along the way, before introducing Germany to the wonders olive oil can do when it does not come from the lower shelves of your local supermarket. It’s as simple as that. But in the meantime, there’s a lesson to be learnt here, at a time when Germany is increasingly reluctant to help out a southern Europe on the edge of bankruptcy: don’t donate, cooperate. Now where’s that bread?
