SUMMER READING

Inspired by one of my favorite blogs, I recently decided to sort through the metastasizing stacks of books in my apartment and put together a coherent reading list. If you’ve never done this, do so immediately – it is one of the most calming, and inspiring, exercises I can think of. A little fiction, a little art, a little poetry. What more do you need, except time to read? Go the beach already.

The London Trilogy, by Martin Amis

A Life of Picasso (Vol. I), by John Richardson

The Collected Writings of Joe Brainard, just out from the Library of America

Memphis: Research, Experiences, Results, Failures and Successes of New Design, by Barbara Radice

The Stories of John Cheever, by John Cheever
