With production of the film already underway in New Orleans, it’s a safe bet director, Steve McQueen’s next film 12 Years a Slave gathers award attention in 2013, with more stars than his previous films, featuring Michael Kenneth Williams, Brad Pitt, Chiwetel Eiofor and of course Michael Fassbender, who is starting to form a Burton/Depp team with Steve McQueen.
12 Years a Slave tells a true adaption of Solomon Northup’s autobiography, where a free black man kidnapped from New York is sold into brutal slavery in mid -1850s Louisiana, telling the story of his gruelling, desperate struggle to return home to his family. Another light hearted film for the family by McQueen.
Not due to be released until late 2013. It’s still very much under wraps, with Fassbender not giving much away in this recent interview.
