Dear Friends,
here are a few things we learnt from punk:
#01: Punk Says: Just go for it! So when our friends at the Tender Bar in Glasgow invited us to play some noise music, considering our current issue featuring Mrs Kim Gordon, who knows all about noise, we thought, hell yeah, let’s do this! And so come along to our Glasgow launch for our current issue mono.kultur #33, at the appropriately named Tender Bar, that glorious and temporary bar project by Danny Holcroft and Ragnar Jonasson.
#02: Punk Says: Empowerment! Empowerment comes with knowledge, and knowledge, ah sweet knowledge, comes with time. And with Dave Markey’s excellent documentary 1991: The Year Punk Broke, on Sonic Youth and Nirvana’s joint tour through Europe, which we will be screening first, at 7pm sharp.
#03: Punk Says: Turn up the Volume! And turn up the volume we will, when Melissa and Patrick will make your ears bleed with some serious noise music.
All this and more on one sweet Friday night in Glasgow next week, coming up fast and loud. We look forward to seeing you there.
All our best,
mono.kultur
