The 6th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT6) officially opens at the Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane, Australia this weekend – Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December. Established in 1993 the Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT) is the Queensland Art Gallery’s flagship international contemporary art event. It is the only major series of exhibitions in the world to focus exclusively on the contemporary art of Asia and the Pacific including Australia. APT6 will include the work of more than 100 artists from 25 countries. While unfortunately you won’t see our current cover star Ai Weiwei in APT6 his work has been featured in previous APT’s. APT6 continues until 5th April 2010.
