Sometimes we get asked why we don’t sell at more stores in France, and the reason is simple: apparently, the French don’t like us very much. According to bookstores and one unpleasant distribution experience, the French steal mono.kultur, rather than buying it (which, of course, is wrong). Weirdly enough, France is the only country where this seems to happen – as far as we’re told. So that’s why the French bookstores don’t like us very much. Which is why we don’t have many of them, in France. It’s all a little bewildering, really.
Anyway, the good news is, we don’t give up on you French, so if you happen to be in Paris this weekend, mono.kultur is coming to you, via the infatiguable Motto co-curating the rather brilliant annual Salon Light, at the impeccable Point Éphemère which anyway, always makes for a good Sunday out.
