When I was 13 years old I discovered Joy Division and the next 4 years my poor family had to endure non stop repeat play of Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Substance, Warsaw, all kinds of bootlegs, live versions etc… Since I was 13 in 1988 I never saw Joy Division play live and I never met anybody who did. But now there’s news: Former Joy Divison bassist Peter Hook started touring with his new band The Light and performing the whole Unknown Pleasures album around the world. He’s going to release a 4-track EP called 1102 / 2011 with three Joy Division cover versions on May 9 which will also include a previously unfinished Joy Division track called Pictures in My Mind.
