Miniatures create a new world by abandoning perspective. Various spaces positioned side by side tell several stories in one plane. Levni, one of the most famous Ottoman miniature artists who lived in 18th century, was known for his humorous way of depicting women figures or the intrigued life in the Ottoman Palace with its festivals and weddings in the book Surname.
Murat Palta, an artist from Istanbul, interprets some well-known movie posters with the influence of miniatures. The Clockwork Orange, Scarface, Shining and Inception are some of the movies that are illustrated. With the costumes, spaces and incidents happening, Palta’s illustrations are embellished with lots of details.
