Dear Friends,
it’s been a while since we’ve last seen each other, so we thought we should celebrate the release of our latest issue – mono.kultur #38 with one of our favourite film directors, the great Gus van Sant – in adequate style. To mark the occasion, we will be screening one of our favourite films, like, ever, which is of course Gus van Sant’s Elephant.
Winner of the prestigious Palme d’Or at Cannes for Best Film and Best Director in 2003, Elephant chronicles the events surrounding a school shooting, based loosely on the 1999 Columbine High School massacre. It is an eerie and breathtaking film balancing so perfectly an independent approach to narrative, cast entirely with non-actors.
A must-see in our opinion, and where better than with us, on the beautiful premises of Uferstudios in Wedding, next Friday, February 20.
We look forward to seeing you there,
mono.kultur
